WELCOME
My name is Kris Harrell and I teach World History at The Dunham School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where we have been a 1:1 MacBook program since 2009. We have been named an Apple Distinguished School five times. In 2019, I was selected to join the Apple Distinguished Educator community, a very passionate group of educators that are fired up about technology in the classroom. In addition to being an ADE, I am also a Certified Apple Teacher, a Level 1 Certified Google Educator, a Flipgrid Certified Educator, a Kahoot! Gold Certified Teacher, as well as a Nearpod Certified Trainer and PioNear. I created this website to share my experience in hopes of inspiring and empowering teachers that are looking to adopt technology in the classroom, or that are experienced and looking for fresh new ideas to engage their students.
This site is also designed to network with other teachers. I want to connect with teachers all over the world that are using technology in new and exciting ways! If you happen across this page and have ideas you want to share, feel free to contact me. I am always looking for new ways to get my students excited about learning, reaching a broader spectrum of learning styles, and at the same time, building the skills necessary for jobs that don't even exist yet!
Check out some of the ways I am using technology in my classroom and use anything you like. These activities are not specific to the content to which I applied them. You are welcome to change them up to suit your content and classroom needs.
Please send any feedback you have, especially if you tried anything you found on my page. Thanks, and enjoy!
